Quick Mckay Brook Falls Trip

Good Afternoon To Visit Mckay Brook Falls

A trip to Mckay Brook Falls was in order during another hot afternoon in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. McKay Brook Falls is located very close to another area I visited recently, Hinkley Falls. It was a great time to get some shade and calm the nerves, so I set out on my way. Looking for directions? Click McKay Brook Falls.

Path Down And Entrance

The Mckay Brook Falls are located on a steep path right off the McBeth road. It’s not much of a hike to get there! I took my time going down the path and came upon the “base” of the waterfall. I went during a dry spell, so it definitely wasn’t flowing aggressively. That being said, if you’re looking for a nice relaxing, peaceful place to take in sights and sounds, Mckay Brook Falls in Pictou County certainly fits the bill!

Got A Little Adventurous

I decided to climb up some rocks to get some better footage. I’m new to all this. I have very little knowledge and technical ability when it comes to taking video, but I’m learning as I go. one thing I do have is hiking experience and a good level of fitness (for my age anyway). I was able to capture a good view of the water flowing from the upper falls to the base. I then went down to the base level and was able to capture some slow motion video.

Time to pack up!

This was a very quick trip from start to finish. There was nobody else in the area which was really nice, as I got to do as I pleased. I’d specifically recommend the McKay Brook Falls to anyone in the Scotsburn, River John, and PIctou areas, as it serves as a quick getaway from the every day hustle and bustle! Thank you for reading my post.
