Glencoe Brooks Falls - Wrong Way!
I decided to look for one of the lesser known Pictou County Waterfalls online, and I happened to come across Glencoe Brook Falls. I decided to take a drive out to the Glencoe/Sunnybrae area to see what it was all about. I parked at the trailhead and made my way to the waterfalls, or so I thought! About 3 kilometers up the trail I came across some bear scat, and there weren’t any signs of a waterfall in the area. I heard, and shortly after saw, ATV’s coming in my direction. I flagged them down and asked them if they knew were the Glencoe Brook Falls were. They said I missed the turnoff by 2.5 kilometers. They offered me a ride to the path in their side by side which I graciously accepted. Can’t Thank them enough!

A Little Bit On The Steep Side!
As I was walking down the path to Glencoe Brook Falls, I could notice there was a drop off approaching, and it was progressively getting steeper. I then noticed rope tied around one of the trees. This turned out to be the steepest path to any of the Pictou County Waterfalls I’d been to! Rope was tied from tree to tree, meant to be a lifeline to get yourself down to the waterfall. At that point, I was wondering what the heck I got myself into. I quickly generalized the situation by telling myself “At least there’s rope”. I slowly and safely made my way down to the falls.

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Pictou County Waterfalls
It was a gorgeous sunny day, and it couldn’t have been a better setting for me to visit Glencoe Brook falls for the first time. The sun was glistening off the water, it was almost too bright. When I got down to the falls I was shocked at how beautiful they were. There were upper falls, lower falls, and beauty everywhere in between. Even the way the rocks were situated looked amazing. Hearing the water splash into the pool, and then seeing it make its way down to the lower levels, was just so relaxing.

Terrain More Dangerous Than The Way Down
My curiosity got the better of me, and I explored every nook and cranny of the area! This came at a risk, of course. The terrain was very uneven and rocky, which made it one of the more dangerous Pictou County Waterfalls I have explored to date. I was trying to get close shots of the water, and of course the rocks around the water were wet, which created slipping hazards. I had good shoes on and made sure to move around slowly and safely so I’d get home in one piece.
An Adventure I Don't Regret!
I ended up spending a half hour exploring the Glencoe Brook Falls. I had seen everything I needed to see, and decided it was time to take the “rope elevator” back up. As far as Pictou County Waterfalls are concerned, this is the best one I’ve been to yet, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
